Last year, I got excited about soaking my Tres Leche Cake with tequila milk, which is almost cocktail by itself.  The absorption of the tequila milk made the cake a perfect dessert for celebrating Cinco de Mayo.

“Hurry! A couple of posts ago, I spoke of my former fondness for cakes with fruit cocktail filling and whipped cream. I ate them because: 1.) I loved desserts as a child and that’s what was given to me, and 2.) cake represented celebration. I have evolved in my choice of desserts, but the second reason has become ingrained into my lifestyle.

Last week, I tweeted “What a beautiful day in the neighbor,” and it truly was. Upper 60s to low 70s, not a cloud in the sky and the sun showered everyone with warm golden rays. Then a day later, though the sun was still bright, Mr. Rogers left and Mr. Freeze blew in.
